Academic exposure disguised as play.

We believe that children thrive when they experience a balance of free play and natural exposure to academic concepts.

What makes us different?

My School does not have traditional grade levels according to a child’s birth age. We meet the children where they are. We work on the skills they need to master in order to move on to the next level of learning.

We provide instruction disguised as play. We are experts at creating games and using movement for every topic and skill. We value socialization. We love to share our space and our toys with new friends.

What We Believe

We believe children that thrive when they experience a balance of
free play and exposure to academic concepts.

Collaborative Mentorship

We believe that we can all be teachers, kids, parents, and support staff. At My School the adults are there to help create a variety of opportunities for play and to provide guidance when necessary.

Child-Led Exploration

We believe that the best learning happens slowly over time. We provide children with opportunities and time to explore freely. Children always choose what they would like to play with. We get dirty and we make a mess, but we know how to clean up when it’s time. In our opinion childhood should be fun, and learning should not be a struggle.

Parent Involvement

We have an open door policy for communication and actual in-person visits. We believe that parents are a child’s first teacher and without their support, we cannot accomplish our goals.

Love From Parents

Ivy and Amore (3.5) are absolutely thriving at My School Arizona. They wake up excited for school each morning and come home full of stories about what they’ve learned. The growth we’ve seen in their confidence, social skills, and love of learning has been incredible.

Ms. Amie has created a nurturing, structured environment where children feel safe, supported, and truly valued. As a parent, there is no greater peace than knowing your children are genuinely cared for every single day. We are so grateful to be part of the My School Arizona family.

Miss Amie has the skills of a teacher and the heart of a mother… always keeping my grandchild’s needs and abilities as her guide.

Miss Amie accommodated my grandson’s needs and allowed me to stay while he played.

Thank you Miss Amie for helping my child get accustomed to ‘school’ by creating such a nurturing learning environment.

My School has been such a blessing for my son and I. There used to be tears at morning drop off time, now there's "is it time for school yet?"

Joining the classroom at My School Arizona has been a HUGE blessing for my family. For the past few months this has been a reset both cognitively and emotionally for me as a parent and for my son's Autism and ADHD. I have finally found a village that is inclusive, loving and understanding.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a set curriculum?
We do not follow a boxed curriculum. We focus heavily on current events, teachable moments and high interest materials. When something happens, a child has a question, or shows an interest, we have the freedom to pull the best resources we can find and follow the path until their curiosity is solved. We are experts at child development, the way the brain learns, the natural progression of learning  to read, write and complete math tasks. We take children at face value irregardless of age. We assess their current level, or abilities, and determine what they would need for the next steps. We believe in guiding them naturally and using play as much as possible.
What is the daily schedule like?
We are very flexible. Our activities change regularly but we stick to a loose daily schedule meaning that times may be pushed a few minutes if the children appear to be ready to move on or if they wish to stay involved because they are really engaged.

Our day basically goes like this...We come in and have free play from 8-8:40. We clean up, discuss the calendar/season/date/, and we share a seasonal/topic appropriate read aloud. We have snack from 9:00 to 9:20. We clean up and move into a STEM/art/sensory/math or reading game or project. At 10:00 we clean up and head to the playroom for free play. At 11 we clean up, wash up and head to lunch. Then it's more free play. 12:00 is rest time for the little ones and a free choice brain break activity for the older kids. Some kids have lessons while the littles rest. After rest time we have another snack and more free play.

**free play is alternated between our outdoor playground and our indoor play areas depending on weather.
What does snack consist of?
We alternate snacks but the main focus is fruits and vegetables paired with crackers, cheese and yogurt. We use mealtimes to discuss how our food is grown, all of our senses such as touch, smell and taste. We compare the foods and who likes which ones. Meal times are very conversational and include teachable moments whenever possible.
How do you handle all the different age groups?
We meet as a large group for story, calendar, art, science and free play. Individual tutoring, or higher leveled instruction, occurs in the afternoon when the smaller children are resting. We find that the older children enjoy working in the afternoon because by then they have already had 3 opportunities for free play so it easier for them to focus.
